Methods To Break Writer's Block

There are multiple ways to overcome writer's block. The key is to find the ones that work for you. Something to remember is that there are different reasons as to why you fell into writer's block and based on those reasons, there is a different solution to every one of them. Most of these tips will be based on a handy chart I found on Pinterest because it easily weeds out the problems and gives a simple but effective way to fix them.

  1. Step one: Identify why you stumbled into writer's block in the first place. Is it the character? The plot? Your writing style? Maybe it's none of these. You could need some fresh air to run your creativity a bit further or you just need to stop procrastinating.

  2. If it is the character, try challenging them. Put the character to their limits. If it still isn't working out you need to change some things about your character. Give them more hobbies, and a purpose to be in your story. Fix the character development. (I have a post that might help you if you're stuck: https://clarklydia578.wixsite.com/lydia-violet-writes/post/creating-your-characters) Ask yourself what you're story is about. It could be that you're story has to struggle or reason to be told. What is the story's purpose of being told?

  3. If it's your plot that's bothering you, think about where you want your story to go. If you want to put this plot twist somewhere in your book how do you get there? If you have no idea where you want this to go ask yourself what aren't you going to do with your writing? What isn't going to happen and how do I keep away from it?

  4. If it is indeed your writing style try thinking your story as if it's only going to one person. An imaginary friend maybe. It's only for their eyes.

  5. Maybe you are out of the imgination of the day. To replenish it go for a walk outside, listen to music read a different book. Watching someone else being creative will inspire you to be creative too.

I hope this helped! Any advice would be great! Just comment them down below and don't forget to like and subscribe!
